DIY Bridal Party Gift Idea - Custom Bath Salts

<span class=

Looking for a perfect thank you gift for your bridesmaids that will allow them to relax & refresh before your wedding? Creating custom bath salts can be both a budget friendly bridal party gift or a luxe bridal party gift as it all depends on the ingredients that you select. Many brides are all about DIY projects to help control wedding cost, if that describes you, the recipe below can be modified to your personal preference.

The basic steps for making bath salts:
  • Start with selecting a glass jar for the salts. Its best to use a air tight jar like a mason jar or other specialty glass jars.
  • Select or design a custom label or sticker for the jar. Etsy has amazing designers who create custom labels & stickers.
  • Ready to start mixing?
  • 1 medium glass or metal bowl to mix ingredients
  • 1 cup of soothing Epsom Salt
  • *Optional* Baking soda can be added which acts as a skin softener & water conditioner
  • Stir 1 cup of purifying sea salt/coarse sea salt. {Can be purchased at Whole Foods or specialty cooking retail stores}
  • Add 10-20 drops of aromatherapy or Essential Oil. Crabtree & Evelyn & Whole Body have amazing scents
  • To add color, mix 2-3 drops of food coloring into the salt mixture. Williams & Sonoma offers great pastel food paste. However food coloring can be purchased at your local grocery store
  • After mixing contents thoroughly, pour the mixture into glass containers with custom label & decorative ribbon....and....
  • Voila! You've just created a custom bath salt that I know your Maids' will adore.
