Beauty Confession

For those that know me & many of my brides, they soon figure out that I have a vice for the soap opera the Young & the Restless but most importantly all types of accessories. Its so bad I must confess, I am a sucker for a nice necklace and handbag.

Well I took a personal financial challenge at the beginning of the year and joined a female financial group that I will call the "Girl, Get Your Money Straight" group. We discuss finances, budgeting, stocks, investing etc. I've been doing really really good but do you ever just get the itch to buy a handbag? Ummm yeah, that is where I am right now! I am doing lots of "Online Window Shopping" and I have had so many things in my virtual shopping cart but *sigh* I closed out the browser and walked away.

Here are a few things that were in my cart today. I ♥ Bodhi handbags My fave is the black clutch with the safety pin handle!!!!

PWG Bridal Show Recap

Thank you & congratulations to all the new Brides that we met at the Perfect Wedding Guide Bridal Show at the Frist Center for Visual Arts on Sunday.

The theme of my Bridal Opulence booth was "Go Green & Go Bling"! I chose to go more chic & elegant because that is the vibe of the Frist Center!
The overall color palette for the table was classic black & white, I accented with a damask table runner & green pops of color under the damask and with the feather plumes. The main focal point was the bling crystal globes that were accented with bling voltives & larger faux diamonds sprinkled throughout the table.
Other personal accents were the damask & green Bridal Opulence table number, and the damask china place setting.

Overall the booth was a huge success with everyone! I want to thank Chelsea an upcoming bride for coming to hang out with me for a few hours to give a "Brides Perspective" on hiring a wedding planner!

Total numbers have not been passed along, however:

We passed out:

Thanks to everyone that stopped by the booth & happy 2009 & 2010 planning!!

Incorporating children!

Blended families are very common today, but have you ever wondered how to incorporate your children into your wedding ceremony? Depending on the age of the children, you can make them feel apart of the wedding party by asking them to be attendants, junior attendants, flower girls or the ring bearer.

Children can also escort the bride (their Mom) down the aisle which shows that they have given their stamp of approval or blessing. Its important no matter how you choose to incorporate the children to consider doing a special family vow exchange, reading or prayer. This typically takes place immediately following the exchange of marriage vows.

Couples also choose to present the kids with a special gift; jewelry-for girls & a watch or ID bracelet- for boys. I think this portion of any blended family ceremony is so sweet because it allows you & your groom to open up & speak from your heart to the children during the ceremony.

The most important thing is to ensure they children are included if they want to be!!

Bridal Handbags

More & more brides are making the decision to carry a small clutch bag with them during their reception. This is perfect for retouching makeup & your lipgloss so that your pictures will remain flawless throughout the evening.

I have been a huge fan of Judith Leiber for quite sometime. The Leiber brand represents all things luxe, elegance, style, and sophistication. I purchased my first Judith Leiber evening clutch at my favorite consignment shop here in the city several years ago for a fraction of the retail price! Although these bags are definitely for the Luxe bride, be sure to check out consignment stores in your area, you never know what you may just luck upon. Or you may be able to find another designer bag that looks just as nice!

My picks from Judith Leiber.

My favorite of course is the Precious Rose...the Top of the line!!
