Today Show Wedding!

Many of you know that I am a TV junkie......(I am trying to do a 12 step program but its not working *LOL*) Well every week I tuned in to the Today Show to watch "Today Show Throws a Wedding" and I fell in love with Ladonna & Darnell Suggs who won the "Race to the Altar"

Turns out that LaDonna is the cousin of Melinda Doolittle of American Idol (another vice of mine) and she sang as a surprise for the happy couple. Check it out!!

Favor of the Week

This week, I thought I would choose something a little different. I recently added a Bride & Baby Shower Print Shop to Opulent Favors.

Here are a few Invitations, thank you cards & Advice cards that would be a cute inexpensive stationary option for your bridal or baby shower. Many of the baby shower invitations could also be used for a bridal shower or tea, because they are really trendy!

Beat the heat

If you live in the Nashville area, you will totally be able to relate to this blog. Over the past week, we have experienced extreme heat and humidity that makes it almost unbearable to be outside. I mean come on, its 11am right now and its already 92 degrees outside!

Planning a outdoor wedding or shower in extreme heat makes it a challenge for everyone. So as a planner I want to give you some helping tidbits.

First, have plenty of cold water or sweet tea (we are in the South) for your guest to keep them hydrated & cool.

Secondly, why not make your wedding favor a paper parasols or wedding fan? Parasols & fans are really chic and add an extra flair to your event while keeping your guest cool. Parasols use to only come in white, but now the colors are endless.

Check out what I mean:

Parasols are Asian Inspired umbrellas that really help to protect from the heat, and really look super cute in pics.

Another option in helping your Wedding or shower guest beat the heat are wedding fans. I recently attended a baby shower and fans were given as the favor & it really was a cute idea!!

I remember the day that I received the initial email about this wonderful engagement that took place in Atlanta & I have often wondered about the couple that had such a grande wedding proposal back in 2007 at the Ritz Carlton in Buckhead (Atlanta) and low & behold I had a friend in the industry to send me their wedding site.  

What a couple to be so grounded in their beliefs to show the agape kind of love.  I can not do this short blog any justice, you have to see for yourself as......again I sit in front of my laptop and ball my eyes out.  Its the most touching proposal that I think I have ever seen.

Girls Night Out - SATC Movie Party Recap

The month of May was truly a busy month for me, business travel, personal travel....both my sisters graduated in May one from Clark Atlanta University & the other from Christian County High School. I am very proud of their accomplishments!

So needless to say, I have had alot going on, and to top it off, I signed on to be one of the planners for the Ashleysbrideguide.com + SATC Movie Premiere Party = A Girls Night Out Party which took place on May 30th at Uptown 162 in Nashville! How could I pass up the opportunity to work with some of Nashville's greatest Wedding Professionals, Spa & Boutique owners! They were all FAB-o-la!!
